Post HSP Roto-Starts Now Available - Video and pictures
Here are the details for the new HSP Roto-starts that are now available:

Here is a short video of one fitted to an engine:

www.plaig.com.au/roto.avi

These are $50 each, this includes the starter, backplate and shaft. I now have batteries and Chargers available, these take the 7.2V 3300 Mah Battery, here is a link to more details of the batteries: http://plaighobbies.forumsplace.com/message2589.html These fit in the 500G postage bags so postage is cheap aswell. The part number to ask for when ordering is ROTO and if you need a battery and charger then please add that to the order aswell.

There is now a new model of engine backplate for the VX18 engines, they have reduced the size of the backplate and the bearing so that it is the same as the VX21, so I now need to know which size backplate each person has when they buy so that I can send the right one, here is an example to better explain it:

The battery packs are a 7.2 volt "stick" pack and I think you'll need Tamiya plugs (pretty standard) on 'em.

The same pack was used to drive the original Tamiya Frog buggy and apart from increases in milliamp/hour ratings, hasn't changed in about 25 years.

Cache Ya,
Craig.

Any response yet from your China connection abot the SH28 back plate?

That's the style, but the only down side with those batteries are that they are only1800 mAh.

I think the ones Trev refering to for $27 are 3300mAh, a lot stronger and last longer

Here is the web site for the batteries, good price and good service.

They also have chargers.

It has both 3300 and 3700mAh

I have received new backplates for the rotostarts today, they are for the VX.21 and SH.28 from the Bazooka and Tornado, they are the same price as the VX18 rotostarts.
